This page is a work-in-progress: some things may not make sense.
The Thecus N2100 is a network storage appliance, featuring an Intel IOP ARM CPU; two internal SATA drive bays; several USB 2 ports; two gigabit NICs and a minPCI slot.
I use mine with two Western Digital WD4000KS 400GB SATA drives in a RAID-1 configuration using Linux software RAID and Debian GNU/Linux.
There are several things about the box/software which I feel could use improvement; this page and subpages track them.
Customisation
- installing Debian
- sorting out thermal issues (see temperature)
- serial port
- done!
- replacing the fan
various bits of hacking
- the initramfs lacks a modules.dep so there's several errors about the file missing in the boot output
